The Crewe family name

THE family name 'Crewe' dates back to Anglo-Saxon times, and it has its roots in Cheshire.

As time passed the family grew and prospered, becoming a distinguished family of England, eventually giving their name to the hamlet of Coppenhall.

Sir Ranulph Crewe bought and restored the mansion near the town. The family was prominent in politics for many years representing the local area in parliament.
