Rolls Royce

Another of Crewe's claims to fame is as the former home of the world's best motor car, Rolls-Royce.

The company Rolls Royce Limited was the result of the merging of two businesses: Royce Limited owned by Sir Henry Royce, and C.S. Rolls and Company, organised and run by Charles Stuart Rolls.

In 1938, 32 years after the merge, Rolls Royce built its factory in Crewe, where it produced its famous motorcar.
